This is not an exhaustive list of the issues I have experience with so if your issue is not listed do not assume I am not willing or able to help - the best way to check is reach out & ask!
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist based in Hackney & Ealing Broadway (London), where I offer a safe space for confidential one-to-one counselling (Face To Face & online) on both a short and long-term basis - whatever is most appropriate to your means, needs and situation.
If you are looking for someone to talk to, who has a genuine passion about helping others in whatever way best suits them, whether its to find the necessary courage and self-belief to move forward in your life, or maybe something more deep rooted such as discovering a newfound sense of purpose and belonging, or simply seeking a new perspective from which to view and address your problems - whatever the issue please feel free to call or drop me a line so we can explore how we might work together.
I appreciate how difficult that first step is, so however you might be feeling right now, and no matter how daunting it might feel to reach out for help, rest assured your call will be received with sensitivity & compassion - where we can have an initial chat with no commitment, so we can explore a potential fit, so that together we can find out how to best take that first tentative step towards a new life....
“We human beings need to be seen as we are, accepted in our best behavior but also in our worst, supported in our complexity, recognized in our ambiguity, encouraged in our efforts to become complete. … we need both support in our limitations and challenge of our strengths.”
(Philip Lichtenberg)
“Justin worked for our cancer support centre’s counselling service for two years. Throughout his time with us, Justin’s counselling clients felt profoundly supported and understood. With great patience and kindness, he helped those impacted by cancer to navigate their ways through often turbulent, frightening and bewildering times.”
Penny Kiernan, Counselling Lead, The Mulberry Centre.

If this is the first time you have considered counselling, you may well be wondering what to expect and how it may help you with the issues you are facing.
There are many theoretical schools and contrasting styles of psychotherapeutic practice, each with its own unique approach and different ways of working with clients. Some tend to focus more on their clients thinking & cognitive processes along with the beliefs that inform them (e.g. CBT or Psychodynamic), whilst others maybe more geared towards feelings, emotional processing and our embodied experience (e.g. Person Centred or Emotion Focused Therapy) whereas others may have an Existential or Spiritual bias (e.g. Existential, Psychosynthesis or Transpersonal Therapy ) in terms of how they understand their role and the nature of the therapuetic process.
My approach is Integrative in that I draw on a broad range of clinical models (applying whichever approach feels most appropriate at any one moment, whilst holding in mind the specific nature of the overarching goals we have agreed for our work together)
The Therapeutic Relationship
All the research shows that no matter what form of therapy you engage with, the most fundamental factor that is decisive in a positive outcome is the quality of the therapeutic relationship
